The Bride

Emily was born in a small town in Michigan, but didn’t stick around for long. After high school, she lived in France and then moved to Chicago for university. She started her career in international development, traveling often to Nairobi, Kenya and fell in love with the region. Today, she works in marketing for a global research and design firm with roots in Rwanda.

The Groom

Shiv was born in Mombasa, Kenya and first stepped foot in the U.S. at age 19 in Des Moines for college. He moved to Chicago after graduating from Drake University and pursued a career as an actuary. Today he works as a Director at an insurance company and moonlights as a teacher for several online classes.
